About Jen

I was always the one to volunteer to bring the dessert to potlucks. So, when I was looking at a course catalog for my daughter (then age 4), I saw 'Cake Decorating' and I knew that I should try it. I took my first Wilton course in February 2007. I have since taken all four Wilton courses, and a class in gumpaste flowers. While in California I was a member of the Sweet Arts Club. Let's just say that I became addicted to sugar art!

Sugar has become my medium that allows me to express my creativity, but the best part is that you get to eat it!

I hope you enjoy my work!

PS. because you asked...
My undergraduate degree is in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois (you can find my name, Jennifer Phillips, in the library on the bronze tablets). My masters degree is also in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford University. I worked at NASA-Langley as a summer inter for two years. After college, I worked at Boeing, Southern California plants, in the Advanced Design department designing future aircraft. The largest project that I was a part of was the Blended Wing Body - flying wing airliner/bomber/tanker/'anything else we could dream up'.
I left Boeing to stay home with my two adorable children!
We left California when Boeing sold off it's rocket division forcing my husband to find new employment at Rolls-Royce (yes, my husband was a rocket scientist!). That brought us to Zionsville and much closer to our family in Illinios.
